Amplification of HPV genotype specific DNA
sequences by PCR is used to detect and identify the specific HPV genotype(s) in
this test. The HPV DNA genotyping test method identifies the presence of any of
the 37 common HPV genotypes in the specimen. The low-risk HPV types
identification include HPV 6, 11, 26, 34, 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 55, 57, 61, 67,
69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 81, 82, 83 and 84; whereas the high-risk HPV types
identification include HPV 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59,
66, and 68. It covers approximately 97.3% of all HPV infection in the general
population.
